FERNBANK MUSEUM

Explore Extraordinary Landscapes
Take your students on an educational journey to seven of the most geographically dynamic locations, including Greenland, Madagascar, the Namib Desert, the Okavango Delta, Tibet, Iguazu Falls and the Amazon River in the large-format film, The Greatest Places. Aerial and remote location cinematography highlights spectacular land forms, diverse wildlife and the people and cultures indigenous to these locations.

Fortson 4-H Center Environmental Education Homeschool Days

 

Mark your calendars and plan on being at the Fortson 4-H Center on April 5-6, 2010 (rain or shine!) for our overnight environmental education field study.  This is a great field trip for individual families or support groups.  Our environmental education program provides an excellent opportunity for children to learn about the outdoors and get dirty doing it! 

 

Registration

Please visit our website, www.fortson4h.org, for complete details and to fill out the registration form.  A $15 per person non-refundable deposit is due along with the registration form to reserve your spot. The deadline for registration is April 19 , 2010.

 

Cost

The cost includes lodging, classes, and meals.

Adults and students ages 6 and above: $52.50

Children ages 3-5: $26; ages 2 and under are free

 

Classes

You will be able to choose 3 of the following 6 classes:

*Pond Ecology, Forest Ecology, Herpetology, Entomology, Archery, or Orienteering. Archery and Orienteering are available for 4th grade and up.  

 

We will be running the Zip Line (space is limited) after lunch on Tuesday.  The cost of the zip line will be an additional $12 per person that plans on zipping.

 

*Classes subject to cancellation due to attendance.
