Ruth began homeschooling in 1983 and graduated all three of her children from a non-accredited, non-traditional program.  All three have gone on to college and beyond.  Ruth has a Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities and has experience in both public and private school settings.  She is an Educational Consultant in private practice working with families from all school settings.  She specializes in comprehensive evaluations, learning challenges, and curriculum planning.  She also teaches classes for high schoolers in her home. She has recently completed her Ph. D. in Christian Counseling. If you would like to participate, please respond as quickly as possible so that you may reserve your space.  You are considered registered after your payment has been received.  There is a 15 family minimum, so please share this information with anyone you believe would benefit from this workshop.  Session One: 9am – 12:30pm Chill Out 101: How to Get Started Home Schooling and Be Successful This is perfect for parents who are just beginning to home school or who are beginning academic work with their young children. Particularly good for parents who have home schooled for less than 3 years; also for teaching veterans who need a boost in their teaching. Covers practical aspects of home schooling. Session Two: 1:30-5:00pm High School and Beyond! Some topics you'll hear: You CAN do this!  Encouragement for the long haul Record Keeping/Transcripts/Portfolios Dual Enrollment Accreditation *67 page High School and Beyond workbook available at the seminar for $15. The preregistration fee is $22/family/session when registered by 8/2/2013.  If you attend both sessions preregistration is $40/family. Registration at the door is $25.00 for each session.
