January 19 & 20, 2005

11:00 A.M.

Downstairs Theater

Dear Georgia Home Education Association members,

The Center for Puppetry Arts would like to extend a special invitation to you as home educators.  You are invited to a special-engagement preview matinee of THE FIREBIRD performed by The David Simpich Marionettes of Colorado Springs, CO.  The preview performances will be January 19 & 20 at 11 AM in the Center’s Downstairs Theater.  This version of the Russian folktale presents mythology, language arts and social studies in a way that creates an entertaining and memorable educational experience.

The performance is a combination of several versions of THE FIREBIRD story and meets Georgia Quality Core Curriculum Standards for grades 6 – 12. The Center has convenient guides available online that can be easily downloaded to assist with creating a study plan.

Additional information is available at  http://www.puppet.org/perform/firebird.shtml.

The rate for groups of ten or more is only $8 per person!  One adult chaperone per group receives a free ticket.  Contact a Ticket Sales Representative at (404)873-3391 and mention this e-mail to receive the above rate.  If there are less than ten in your group, please call (404)881-5178 for alternate options.

We look forward to seeing you at the Center for Puppetry Arts!
