The 2009 Southeastern Flower Show Youth Division invites you to join us in a passionate embrace of the environment. Held this year at the Cobb Galleria Centre, January 28 - February 1, our theme is

Environmental Passion….Can You Dig It?”

1. Eligibility: Open to all, 18 years or younger. Individuals or groups such as schools, churches,

Junior Master Gardener Programs, 4-H Clubs, homeschoolers and scout troops, are welcome to


2. Display and Exhibit Topics: Can be previously created as an educational project for school or

group; must be presented on a trifold foam display board (36” x 48” total dimensions) *

Art Categories: Art entries to be mounted on 8.5” x 11” card stock

4. Flowers

5. Beneficial Garden Insects

Photography Categories: Photography Entries to be mounted on 8.5” x 11” card stock

3. Youth Levels:

A. Preschoolers- Kindergarten- On-site gardening/nature crafts, exploration area and Art


B. Grades 1 – 5 Topics 1-7

C. Grades 6 – 8 Topics 1-7

D. Grades 9 – 12 Topics 1-7

4. Entry:

· No Entry Fees to compete in above categories

· Exhibits accepted in the order received

· One entry per category per exhibitor or group

· Space is limited so enter early

· Deadline for entry is January 14, 2009*

· Art and Photography Entries must be postmarked by January 10, 2009; package in bubble

wrap envelope

· All Exhibits must have the Exhibitor’s name, grade, address, and phone number clearly

labeled on the back of the exhibit or artwork

· Mail Art and Photography Entries to: SHS/Southeastern Flower Show, Attention:

Youth Division

· Displays and Exhibits delivered to the Cobb Galleria Centre, Southeastern Flower Show

Youth Division on Monday, January, 26 from 3:00 pm to 7:00pm

· Parking is free

· All entries remain until the Show Closes on February 1, 2009

· Individual exhibitors will receive a free voucher to visit the Show and group exhibits

receive two free vouchers to attend

· Each entry must be pick up at the end of the Show

5. Awards:

· There are no monetary rewards.

· All Youth participants will receive a ribbon and a certificate.

· Other ribbons and awards will be given if merited

6. End of Show Removal:

· The Show closes at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2009

· No exhibit may be removed from the Show Floor until 4:30 p.m.

· You must pick up your Exhibit and any ribbons or awards between

4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, February, 1.

· SFS will not be responsible for items remaining on the Show Floor after the Show closes

7. Show Admission:

· Children (Kindergarten & under) free

· Youth (1st Grade – 8th Grade) $ 6

· Students (9th Grade – Graduate School w/ID) $ 8

· Twilight (Adult admission after 4pm Wed. – Fri.) $10

· Advance Adult (prior to January 27, 2009) $12

· General Admission at the door (adult) $16

Our emphasis is on education and awakening in young people a love for nature and stewardship of the

natural world. We hope that you can join us this year in that Passion!
