WHAT:  High School and Beyond Seminar (aka “How to Home School Through High School and Live to Tell About It” by Ruth Martin, survivor

Middle school is a great time to begin planning and preparing for high school.  Plan to attend and be encouraged on how to keep a good thing going through the high school years!

 

WHEN:  Saturday, August 16th   9 am – 5 pm (with break for on your own lunch)

 

WHERE:  Providence Baptist Church, 480 Cooper Rd.  Loganville, GA  30052 (fellowship hall), Providence is located on the corner of Cooper Rd. and Hope Hollow Rd., see directions below

 

WHO:  Families wanting to learn more about home schooling through the high school years.  Teens may attend with parents, if desired.  Nursing babies are the only other children permitted. 

 

COST:  $45 per family, pre-registered by August 15;  

              $55 per family, paid at door on August 16

              For returning attendees:  $30* per family, pre-registered or

                                                           $40* per family, paid at door

Each participating family will receive a copy of Ruth’s Home School and Beyond “manual”.

*will not receive seminar book

 

DETAILS:

Speaker - Ruth Martin, M. Ed., is a local Educational Consultant who is also experienced in Testing/Learning Differences, Curriculum Consultation, and Home School in general.  Ruth is a frequent invited speaker for her information on high school and after high school preparation for home school families, and also spoke recently on various Home School topics at the GHEA convention.  Ruth lives in the Atlanta area, and has information relevant to what Georgia home school families will experience on their high school journey.  Ruth is a very personable speak er, and will be happy to answer questions about your high school journey.

 

Payment - Checks should be made payable to Ruth Martin and mailed to:

Payment must be received by Friday, August 15th to be considered pre-registered.  If you would like email confirmation that your payment was received, please include a note and email address with your payment. 

 

Lunch/Drinks – Several fast food options are available close by.  The doors will be locked during lunch, so you will be required to leave the building.  There is not a drink machine available in the fellowship hall, so please bring a beverage if desired.

Directions: 

  • Hwy. 78 from Snellville: Turn left onto Cooper Rd. Continue straight at the four-way stop, proceed about 1/2 - 3/4 of a mile.  The church will be on your right.
  • Hwy. 78 from Loganville: Turn right onto Rosebud Rd., then turn right again at the four- way stop (Cooper Rd.).  Proceed about 1/2 - 3/4 of a mile, and the church will be on your right.
  • Hwy. 20 from Grayson: Turn right on Cooper Rd., and proceed about 1/2 mile. The church will be on your left.
  • Hwy. 20 from Loganville: Turn left on Cooper Rd., and proceed about 1/2 mile. The church will be on your left.

The Association will serve and assist any home schooling family or support group in Georgia, however, GHEA is a Christian organization and the counsel and direction of the organization will be Christian.
