Jarrell Plantation History Trunk

Jarrell Plantation State Historic Site

Cost: A small fee

Grades: 4th - 6th homeschoolers

Limit: 15 students

Theme: Through various activities students will gain an

understanding of the everyday life of people in rural Georgia in

the late 1800s. The children will meet different characters that lived here

at Jarrell Plantation: John Jarrell -father, Nancy Ann - mother, Meery - cook,

and Mattie - daughter. Each weekchildren will discover what each character's

responsibilities were in order to make the farm successful. Lots of hands-

on activities, projects and some reading required. Some activities may be

changed.
