Washington Workshops Congressional Seminar Essay Contest

This is a major project of The Society held under the auspices of the Washington Workshops Foundation, a private nonprofit educational program in American government for high school students.  Winners of an annual national essay contest sponsored by The NSCDA are sent to Washington, D.C. for a week of citizenship education about the national government.  

In 2005, 71 students sponsored by the Dames attended.

The essay topic for 2005 was "Which U.S. President Serving Between 1850 and 1950 Do You Most Admire and Why?" Read a winning essay.

The topic for 2006 is, "Which of The Amendments to The Constitution is Most Important and Why? "  Information sheet for 2006  and  application for 2006.
